Our History

The Lions Club of Clyde began with the insight of 28 local men.
They met one evening in October 1948, and shared ideas on how to better
serve the community in which they lived and conducted business.
Quickly, they decided to form a chapter of the world's largest service organization,
Lions Club International. They submitted all forms and necessary paperwork, and in
January 1949, the official charter of the Clyde Lions Club was received.

We dedicate this web site to our last charter member. Mr. Anthony Chardeen died on October 18, 2000. We thank him and the 27 others before him for establishing our local club.
