Description 

Lucky Find III is a fully updated, obsessively maintained 1988 offshore/coastal trawler in excellent condition.  The floor plan is the rare and in-demand Plan B with easy access to the staterooms through a short flight of stairs from the galley or the forward pilothouse stairway; and entrance to the stand-up engine room through an interior doorway or the lazarette hatch. Lucky Find III is cruise-ready and has undergone extensive upgrades and improvements for safety and modern comfort.


Lucky Find III was designed by John Norek, famed naval architect. She was built in 1988 in Taiwan's Cheer Men shipyard. Lucky Find III is registered in the United States. 

Lucky Find III is cruising the Erie Canal through October 2011, then on the hard in Geneva, NY for the winter.

Electrical: Two Generators: Onan 15kw and Northern Lights 8kw. Two Magnum 2812 inverter/chargers. Extra capacity 270A alternator on port engine. Two 50A/250VAC inlets (amidships port and starboard); can be split at the panel to allow use of both for 100A/250VAC. 960Ah house battery bank.  House bank recharges in 1-1.5 hours. Separate port and starboard engine starting batteries and charger. Separate bow thruster batteries and charger.

HVAC: Two zones reverse cycle Cruisairs with SMX controls and humidity control.

Dinghy/Davit:  Zodiac 11 ft. Rib with Mariner 25hp outboard engine, depth gauge and auto/manual bilge pump; mounted on custom cradle. 120VAC Strongarm davit.

Washer/Dryer: Bosch full-size, front-loading, high efficiency units.

Bilges

  • Raritan ElectroScan USCG Type 1 Marine Sanitation Devise with Hold-n-Treat is located in the forward bilge.  Heads are plumbed to the on-board holding tank.  Waste in the tank is macerated and processed automatically by the ElectroScan.  The sensor is set for "low" so the majority of the tank is available when cruising in "no discharge" zones.

  • All bilges are dry and protected with appropriately sized automatic bilge pumps and high water alarms.
