Irene
F. Reed
CLYDE - Mrs. Irene F. Reed, 98, of 9928 Old Route 31
West, died Saturday (January 7, 2012) at Geneva
General Hospital following a brief illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday
(January 11th) from 3-6 PM at the Baris Funeral Home,
87 W. Genesee St., Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated on Thursday (January 12th) at 10 AM in
St. John the Evangelist RC Church Clyde. Rev.
Augustine Chumo will officiate. Burial will follow in St.
John's Cemetery Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Volunteer
Ambulance Corps, PO Box 245, Clyde, NY 14433 would
be appreciated.
Mrs. Reed was born in Orleans, NY on May 9, 1913, the
daughter of Lewis and Mamie DeJohn Petruce. She had
graduated from Newark High School, Class of 1933.
Irene later went on to marry the late Fred Reed on June
6, 1936. He had pre-deceased her on May 25, 1992. She
was retired from the General Electric Corp in Clyde
where she had been a Line Supervisor for many years.
Irene had many hobbies in life, but her greatest
enjoyment had come from league bowling.
She is survived by her son Fred "Bud" Reed of Clyde,
her daughters Marcia (David) Breckenridge of
Manhattan, KS and Ann Burden of Atlanta, GA.; her
grandson Thomas (Jamie) Breckenridge of Des Moines,
IA and her great grandchildren Joclyn and Trae.
Besides her parents and husband, Irene was pre-
deceased by her brother Michael Petruce.
